Root CWM3 and Sense Roms

I have recently moved to the Droid X, so I haven't been following the Inc root forum as much, so I apologize if this is old news.

But here is my question: Do Sense based ROMs still have an issue installing when using CWM 3.0.0.8? Or has this issue since been resolved with a new CWM?

I ask because the person who is now using my old Incredible wants to change ROMs but I don't know if I should recommend a Sense based ROM or keep it on cyanogenmod.

I'm no expert, but from what I've read, it has to do with the scripting protocol used by the ROM developer. I haven't had an issue because ROM Manager allows me to go back to any previous version of clockworkmod whenever I need to. If I choose, after flashing the ROM I can then go back to the latest version.
