Maybe this is a stupid question but I was thinking:
Since both Android and your pc use image (ISO) files to install a linux OS, is it possible to install linux using a pc? (Your cellphone works like an external harddisk then)

Can you then install it like the default installation of Linux on pc?

If you mean a live usb with your phone as usb drive, yes(if you have internal or external flash storage)
If you mean download a pre compiled Debian distro to use on your phone, no.
There would need to be a custom rom for android created.

Yes. They've shown this possible with ubuntu. I am sure you can find it simply on The world's most popular free OS | Ubuntu

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for but it sounds very similar if nothing else.

Ubuntu for android is not available for end users.
Also Ubuntu for android runs side by side with Android, not as a standalone.

EDIT: If you have lots of time you could try a linux installer.
Search the market.
QEMU and Bochs for android are also available for full 32bit emulation.
