Root [DEV] One week with a Triumph, or a little more...

All,

Due to some changes my Wife and me will be changing carriers to Verizon and leaving Virgin Mobile all together. In the meantime I have sold my HTC Evo, and also listing a new inbox Samsung Victory on ebay. So what does that mean? Well lets just say I am sitting here with an activated Triumph and going to spend some time developing on it for the next week or so before we switch carriers.

It's a little bitter sweet that I finish out on the Triumph where I first started out. Not sure what I am going to do but was leaning towards looking at the kernel, and also reworking the device files based on new things I have learned from working on the HTC, and Samsung devices. Don't want to promise anything but will see what becomes of the next week or so. I may even tidy up Revamp will have to see...anyways I will be in your company for at least a week if not more as we will be calling Verizon on payday.

So lets see what I can do with the old Triumph :D

See if you can relax and don't do anything! G60madman you were inspiration and the driving force behind triumph development. You deserve some rest! Just hang out here :) why are you switching to verizon? It is sort of anti virgin mobile. You are going from the least expensive to the most expensive.

see if you can make the camera fix from bsydz work on miui 4 lol

I can take a look at it, which miui are we talking the last mtdev one I worked on, or has there been another version?

Thanks man it was a fun ride for sure! We are switching as my Wife doesn't get service all day so we have decided to move to Verizon as all her friends at work are on Verizon and have service. Also Verizon is the only carrier in our state for offering lte so while the ego v and victory where cool phones I only ever sported 3g.

Whatever else you can do for the Triumph will be greatly appreciated.

Will see what I can come up with :D

Verizon has good coverage but be prepared to pay out the ass, and make sure you check if your phone model has a locked bootloader. The Evil Empire has a tendency to lock bootloaders and not even offer an option to unlock them, and when they do, they charge you hundreds more for a "developer edition". Wish they had a Verizon Nexus that was new for you, but they took a complete dump in Google's kool-aid by kicking Wallet off the GNex and adding bloatware to the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. Also they don't like to provide updates. And this will shock those of you that thought VM was evil. This is it's more evil, bigger, even more outsourced to India Satanic cousin.

Yeah we got it all figured out going to cost my Wife and me about $65 a month in total. She gets a 15% discount from her job for verizon and I get a $60 from mine for cell phone service. So its really almost a wash. Also we are both getting the S4 which can be unlocked and also has cm10.1 out for it. So we will both have solid service which is going to be sweet.

So team mobile and att sucks too where you are kc is great for team mobile and att
Edit I just had you pegged as a prepaid for life kinda guy I had verizon and it was complete bs they told me my bill was gonna be about 100 dollars less then it ended up being.

yeah I would have stayed but the Wife doesn't get service so it seems like the best route to go. What good does it do to pay $35 a month and don't get service 9 hours a day for 5 days a week?

Any network is better than VM/boost/sprint even evil Verizon (my work 'dumb' phone is on Verizon). Madman, I hope you & your wife enjoy your new phones & data speeds that are more than 1 mb up/down :D Just remember to keep a close eye on your monthly bill, Verizon loves to sneak in extra charges.

I will switch to these guys http://www.lycamobile.us, as soon the next official google phone is released: Nexus 5 or Moto X, or whatever it will be.

They use T-mobile network, and do not ever sell phone, so any GSM phone works with them! I will use 2c/min 6c/MB plan. Compared to VM $25 plan:
300min * 2c = $6 and ($25 - $6) gives 317MB of 4G data. I checked and on average I use 150MB of data and 200 minutes. So, possibly I will even save some money. There is WIFI available almost everywhere, this is why I do not use mobile data that much.

Yo g60, look at T-Mobile too. They're pretty awesome.
I got the S4 from them since the bootloader is unlocked, and I'm running the stock Google Edition S4's ROM on mine and it works amazing.

30 a month for 5 gb LTE/HSPA+ and 100 minutes of talk and unlimited messages. I think you should grab it quick if you do because I have a feeling I'm gonna have to start grandfathering it. They're doing their JUMP plans soon where they pay off the ETF from Sprint or Verizon, and they're doing their uncarrier no contract LTE plans.

Pretty awesome but its all up to you and your wife.

Thanks man, yeah we already pulled the plug. T-Mobile is also crappy here in New Mexico and one of my Wife's friends has service or lack thereof at the office as well. For NM the best way to fly is Verizon. If we had a big metropolitan city we might be rocking strong with AT&T or T-Mobile, or Sprint for the matter. But when the only Team (football, basket ball) you have to root for is the Lobo's it is what it is....But hey at least Breaking Bad is here :D
