Root Disable OTA updates

Android Enthusiast
Freeze/Uninstall:

MobileCare 6.3.0_B2 (com.innopath.activecare)
MobileCare Extensions 1.0 (com.innopath.activecare.dev.oem)

to avoid OTA updating, and possible loss of root/Brick until we nail down recovery.

i did note that "MobileCare 6.3.0_B2" has the same icon as the ota update app, and froze it (and MobileCare Extensions 1.0) without troubles.

im using superSU and it says on that app description "
The application doesn't support original Superuser and not SuperSU for a very simple reason. The same feature OTA protection feature is already present in SuperSU.
In most case, only manufacturer's original recovery is able to install OTAs. It should not interfere with OTA update process itself." does that mean i shouldnt lose root via OTA anyway?

No, a system update of any sort, almost always means you'll lose root unfortunately.

Which SU app do you have installed? It looks as though it's only the paid version of SuperSU that supports the root backup function.
