Dlna

From the RAZR manual ... (because i couldn't find it either) ....

Use DLNA Certified computers, TVs, and other devices
to play or transfer the video, pictures, and music stored
on your smartphone.
1 Make sure your smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi
network that has another DLNA Certified device.

2 Touch > DLNA.
3 Touch Play media, Copy media to server, Copy media
to phone, or Share media.
Your smartphone searches for DLNA devices on your
network. To search again, touch Menu > Refresh.
4 Touch a device to connect.
For more about DLNA devices, visit Home - DLNA.

on #2 - the image didn't cut and paste - basically it says to start with APPS, then the DLNA should be available. I wonder if it won't show up until another DLNA device is present on the WIFI network???? I am at work, and don't have any DLNA devices on the network, and I can't find any DLNA settings either.

Best of Luck ...

You just go to Gallery then hit the Menu button and then DLNA. It will tell you to turn on wifi if you don't have it on but you don't need any other DLNA devices on to change your settings or turn it on.

Or open up the Music app and hit menu and there is a DLNA servers option.

On another note ... any way to make the RAZR the dlna server. It's all well and good ot be able to seek out a a DLNA server and stream from it ... but I want to use my television (DNLA compliant) to stream from the phone .... and the phone doesn't pick it up as a server when you scan from the gallery app.

Help?

P.S. My TV picks up my TVersity server as a DLNA server ... but the droid doesn't pick that up when it scans either. Not sure what's up there.

Open the native Music app, hit Menu, then Settings, and at bottom select Media Share Settings. I've been able to set up my RAZR as a media server that my Google TV is able to stream from. Now if I can only get the dang update from Logitech now that it is finally being pushed out.

Sweet. Those were the settings I was looking for. Now a new problem. I selected to share Video and music and the dlna icon now shows up in the notification area. However nothing recognizes the server. Not my xbox (I have the support xbox), not my win 7 PC, not my dlna compliant TV. All of these recognize my tversity server so I know they are working. What doI need to do here to get the sever on the phone to show up?
