Does Tmo Nexus 4 work with ATT?

I was contemplating purchasing a Nexus 4 outright from T-Mobile to use with ATT. Is the Tmo Nexus 4 the same as the one available in Google Play?

Thanks, guys.

The Nexus 4 is supposed to be an unlocked GSM phone capable of operation on any GSM-cellular provider. I've seen screenshots elsewhere in the forum where the screen is iconically indicating that T-Mobile is locking the bootloader on phones they sell, which seems counter to the phone's concept. Once the bootloader is unlocked it will accept any carrier's GSM micro-SIM, be it T-Mobile, AT&T, Straight-Talk, Net10 etc.

Nexus 4 - All Things Root - Android Forums has the information one needs to [un]lock the bootloader and/or root. Some pictures of the UNLT menus are attached. (Sorry for the transparent command-line window, but I tend to multi-task.)

The pics are from the Universal Nexus Linux Toolkit referred to there. There are also some M$-based tools that will do the same thing for the poor souls mired in that wannabee OS.

Same phone I believe...a few earlier threads cover this, and as far as I know an at&t sim will work.

However I've used both carriers on my unlocked n4 from the play store and T-Mobile by far is better in my testings in my neck of the woods...

Interesting. Will Tmobile unlock it if I buy outright?

All you can do is ask, prior to purchase of course. Since they're already making a substantial profit on the sale of the phone, perhaps they're not demanding to milk additional money from the customer with the contract.
