Don't be cheap on your phone battery?

Third-party battery purchased in Shenzhen about 4 months ago. Problem is it doesn't charge any more. Not unless the phone is rebooted, and then it will sometimes charge. No problem with the phone, the original Samsung battery is fine. Thing is though the "Bestery" battery seemed to have more capacity than the original Samsung battery, it lasted noticeably longer.

I've got a cheap,"Gold" battery supposedly 2450 mA(But I reckon it's around 1500mA) in my phone. It lasts about 10/15% longer than the Samsung, which I keep charged close to full as spare. It's been in use for a couple of months so I'll see how it goes.

I did find a,"Japanese" made larger capacity on eBay but have not tried/needed it yet.I looked at those larger batteries that come with a bigger back cover but again not tried one. There is a thread on them on here now.

From what I've heard buying cheap batteries are like getting a no name cheap cell phone.

Some work great, some will have issues.

The original Samsung battery quotes 2100mAh, and the third-party one quotes 2400mAh. And in use I did notice it lasted longer. They're both the same physical size though.

But what's happening now is the third-party one is showing "fully charged" as soon as the charger is plugged into the phone, and is just not charging at all. Unless the phone is rebooted, and then it sometimes works.

I know there's a problem with the battery. I'm posting this in case anyone else has the similar issues with a non-original battery they bought from eBay whatever.

My original LG battery crapped out after about 1.5 years. At the time, an OEM replacement was about $40. I bought one off of ebay for about $4 with free shipping. It took 3 weeks to arrive. I lucked out. It had a higher capacity than the original and is still going strong after more than a year.

It can be a crapshoot to buy off of eBay. I just look for a seller with a high rating who has sold a large number of the same or similar items. So far, I have had good luck purchasing a replacement battery, a replacement antenna on an older phone, various screen protectors and silicone cases for various phones and tablets.
