Root Duplicate contact information

I try a lot of ROMS and updates to them and somehow my phone copy of google mail contacts has many duplicate numbers. For example on contact has his email address listed 15 times. Others have their phone numbers listed many times.

I have tried syncing contacts, but have not been able to complete a sync since April 23. I have also tried deleting cache from Gmail as well as uninstalling and re installing gmail Is there a way to completely delete contacts from the Triumph and then perhaps I can get a good sync with gmail. What file contains the contacts?

Good question I just go through and delete the double triples quads.

There's duplicates being synced to Google's server. Delete them manually and they'll just keep coming back every sync. First go to http://contacts.google.com/ and manage your contacts there. Then try clearing data for Google Services framework under All Apps, as well as Gmail, and Google Contacts sync. Then reboot.

I agree with the "check you contacts online" idea. If it's messed up there then you will get a messed up copy every time you sync.

On one of my apps it will sync my contacts along with Google. It may be that you have multiple apps adding to the data.

Thanks Mike, that did work. Contacts are so much faster now. One contact email was listed more than 15,000 times. Now photos appear also.
