Help error code 1000

My phone keeps popping up a warning message:

Sorry we ran into a problem. Please try again. If the problem persists, call us at 800-922-0204. error code 1000

Is this some sort of spam? It tends to nest 3-4 of the messages on top of each other.

I had that too, after the OTA update. As far as I could discover (and I could be wrong), it is caused by a new VZW version of Verizon Backup + Media, trying to connect to the cloud. Maybe it bugged out because i never set up that feature. Since I don't need that service, I disabled it and no more error messages.
 
I think you are on to it. I found the backup screens in Setting. When I tried to access it I first got the message: just a few moments while we prepare this application for use... That clocked around for a while then bingo! The error 1000 message appeared. Then a second message appeared: SERVER PROBLEM! Abnormal situation Code err_conn/Connection timed out.

Now - how do I turn this bad boy off?

Just go to your app settings and instead of force closing it, press the disable button. I'm making an assumption that you know how to force close apps, but if not let me know and I'll give more specific instructions.
 
I went to Settings, Apps, Running Apps, Backup+ Media. I only see STOP. Don't see Disable. Am I looking in the wrong place? thx for the help!
