Evo Battery Life after update today! 6/30

I've also noticed an improvement in my EVO's battery life (Version 002, and NO issues!). Use to go an entire day with normal usage, now can go even longer!

Same here, only wierd thing is before over half of the usage was phone idle or cell standby, now it shows 94% of battery is used by android system. Not sure why but now its gone from just about a day to probably two days easily between charges (although I plug in every night).

I guess I may be the only one that hasn't seen an improvement. I toold the phone of the charger about 6:30am and played a few games of solitaire. Made no phone calls and by 9:30, I was down 10%. I made some phone calls - maybe 15 minutes tops and sent about 30 text messages. By 11:30am, I was at half mark.

What changes do I need to make? Wifi, BT, 4g are all off.

Thanks.

You are not the only one. My battery life was really good before, though. I am going to try cycling the battery and also the on/off trick with the charger to see if that might help any.

Hey - I don't know about non-root users - but - after doing the update last night, on a hunch, I went to Update PRL.

Even though the PRL number didn't change - 60667 - it said it updated it. Usually, it says, nothing to do, up to date.

You guys might want to try that and post back - could just have been an artifact of the way I updated - or it could've been something odd in the update.

Either way, I'm not 1000000% sure, but I think it was established that the PRL update surpasses the need for the yadda yadda CDMA adday adday fix - and keeps you out of the service menu - always a good thing, in my opinion.

Unplugged from the charger at 9:30 this morning. Light use today, a couple of short calls, 10 text messages,30 or so emails, and bluetooth on. At 5:51 pm I am at 90%. With my normal use (bluetooth, wifi on, too many emails and text to count, silent ringers and vibrate only) during work I get two full days, about 50% battery use each day.

Before the update, with same usage I would only get about a day and a half before recharge.

I updated around noon time yesterday and didn't see any change in my battery life. I have usually been getting 14-15 hours with light to moderate use. Is there some sort of reboot I should be doing?

No matter how many tweeks I try I just can't get past the plateau of 14-15 hours of light to moderate use. How are people getting 2 days?

What I do leave running:
- Background data - I use gmail quite a bit so I can't turn this off.
- TIKL
- Fring for occasional incoming Skype calls
- The weather channel app (NOT widget) since I live in NE and you jusy never know

I use Timeriffic to toggle Bluetooth for drives to work and Wi-fi when I am home
I use Advanced task killer set to auto-kill every 30 min and level is agressive

I downloaded TIKL as well and while its cool, i noticed it was usually in the top 3 of network usage as revealed by spare parts, so i uninstalled it

I can get around 12-16 hours on my battery...didn't notice any change with the update really.

While I would love to get more battery life, what I do get is fine as it gets me through my workday and back to a charger...and I don't have to turn my smartphone into a dumbphone to do it.

Hopefully, once root access is gained again (frikin update) I can root and try the new Fresh ROM...I hear great things about the speed, stability and battery life there.
