Hi,
I'm new to the forum, stumbled upon it when looking for a solution to a small problem I have with my Exchange email/calendar. I recently got a Sony Xperia S, which I've updated to Icecream Sandwich (4.0.4) a few weeks ago. My problem has to do with syncing the phone properly with my work Exchange account. Here it goes:
What I would like is to configure both email and calendar to sync with the Exchange server manually, only on demand. So I've turned off auto sync then went into the email options for that account and set it to Manual update. It works well for the email: I click "Refresh" and it syncs my email account. But when I go and do a refresh in my calendar, it doesn't update!
Basically, the only way to get the calendar to update is to turn on auto-sync. But even if I only check only the calendar in the auto-sync options, it syncs my email automatically as well... and I'd like to avoid that (don't want to be a slave of my work email...)
I'd love to stay with the built-in email and calendar clients... not a fan of installing 3rd party apps just because I can't get the built-in ones to work...
If any one has any advice / tips, it would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks a million,
mic
