Help Facebook gone wrong

So I updated quite a few apps today, but if I'm honest I don't know if facebook was one of them, so that could be completely unrelated, but this evening my facebook app force closes every time I try and open my friends list. This also happens when going through the contacts list and clicking facebook from there. I've rebooted, cleared cache and data from the app and it's not made a difference... Now out of ideas so does anyone else have any suggestions please?

Probably the latest version (1.5.3), which was released a few days ago. Everyone's reporting FCs, check the reviews on the Market.

I have the same issue, I updated to FaceBook 1.5.3 and it FCs at random times. I had no choice but to uninstall the app. I haven't looked for a site with a previous version, maybe there is something out there.
 
yeah i have the same problem and can confirm it is the latest update that is the cause,although i am not too bothered because i usually just view the news feed and there are no problems doing that.

i would hope there is a fix incoming very soon.
 
Yeah looking at the people who've replied, it seems it's a problem with Gingervillian. Anyone know if there's an apk floating around for the previous version for the time being? Can get around it by logging into the website, but that's less that ideal...

Goto Applications, facebook and uninstall the update
 
I have the issue as well.. lots of people do, the new update broke it so you will have to wait for an update or obtain an APK for an older version :)
 
the 1.5.2 update screwed up picture uploads and tagging issues, the 1.5.3 fixed this but now cause's FC's over the board on DIFFERENT ROM's and DIFFERENT Phones....

I checked through the reviews myself as im still sitting back on 1.5.1 and refuse yet to update...and it seems alot of people on mixed and stock roms have issues..not just ginger villain..

It happens to me to, HTC EVO 4g running UD 3.3.0 and GB 2.3.3. Force closes every time I try to open Friends or Profile, and randomly trying to view pictures. Horrible release. Needs to be fixed immediately.
 
Switched back to Gingervillian yesterday and go launcher now Facebook FCs all over the place :(

After all that I installed Flow anyway.
Holy crap - it's just like the Facebook app SHOULD be.
It reminds me of the iPhone Facebook app in that it actually works properly.

Anyone having problems with the Official app being crap then give Flow a go.
Well worth the money I thought.
 
There is an update available now for the official facebook app (1.5.4) and it is now working fully with gingervillain 2.1 :)
