Faster Boot Up Times?

Hello All!

I have a seemingly simple question. I am wanting to figure how to quicken my start up time. Currently it takes about 4 minutes to fully start up. I'm not pleased with that...

All my searching has lead me to Rooting and unlocking the bootloader. I'm not that tech savvy to want to risk either. All I want is a way to improve start up times.

Any ideas?

I have "Startup Manager (Free)" installed with as many apps as it is able to remove from the boot list. But still it takes forever.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Those apps don't really help much, also as the Photon stands in its current software situation there is no way to unlock the boot loader and rooting now takes a few more steps than it used to in because the OCR no longer works.

Actually, rooting is still rather easy. But just before Motorola announced that they would not be upgrading the Photon, the sent an OTA upgrade designed to lock the boot loader so that no one else could upgrade the phone.

The next phone you buy, you should consider that Motorola not only failed to meet their oft stated promises to upgrade the phone, they actively blocked your ability to upgrade it yourself.

No way to improve boot times other than doing a full factory reset and cleaning out the cruft as far as I know. Mine takes 4-5 minutes as well.

I rooted my Photon quite awhile ago, and disabled and/or uninstalled lots of the preinstalled garbage. It helped not only the boot time but overall performance. My Photon still takes a couple/few minutes to fully boot, but it's better than it used to be.
