Feb 2012 update was a mistake for me

First smartphone, and I don't ask a lot of it. Just want to get internet, email, navigation. Before the 2/12 update, all was well. Since then I can only get wireless in the strongest signal areas, navigation practically nowhere. My husband has the exact same phone, he did the update too, his is fine (except now he can't get Facebook). Of course, it's a month past warranty. Any ideas?
