Help fix for gyroscope problem fir g2x

So I couldn't find any help when I encountered this problem and thought I might share the solution incase anyone else happens upon it. J somehow got my gyroscope stuck so that my screen wouldn't rotate to portraitview or flip. After giving up all hope of seeing it fixed (tried reset, did Cal test in the hidden menu, so on and so forth) and getting no help from LG tech support I filter decided the best thing to do was leave it out of auto detect mode as more often than not I like portrait view. I had turned it off before to no avail. Then my battery drained completely and my phone died on a long flight. I don't know if it was the battery dying (I did restart the phone several times prior to no avail) or leaving it out of auto detect mode but when I landed and charged the problem was suddenly fixed.so if your gyroscope every gets stuck on a g2x maybe this is the solution.
