Root Flashing CM 7.2

I installed 5.0.2.8 CWM and did a nandroid backup of Monster 5.3 beforehand

Wiped data + cache + davlik cache

Installed CM 7.2 + Gapps

Reboots & gets past sch-720 screen but then just black screen, no boot animation or anything. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
 
You didn't install the kernel from the CM7.2 thread. Also, not trying to be mean, but instead of posting a new thread, why not comment in the CM7.2 thread, where you can get a reply faster?
 
I've got a problem similar to this, but mine doesn't get passed the SCH-R720 logo, I have the Kernel and Cwm from req0, and I wiped everything and made a backup before that but CM7 doesn't get passed that logo. What should I do? Right now I'm on the backup I made
 
Like I said if your seeing SCH-R720, then you have to re-flash the kernel. Not the package. It should say ANDROID in small white text.
 
I got a different link from DroidGasm, I'm gonna guess that was it, and @gaazakid876, I looked at your devices and I saw that you have CM7.2 [ICS FULL BUILD], how'd you get that? lol
 
Okay, crap I flashed Monster 5.3 and then wanted to go back to CM7.2 but I didn't make a backup, so I did everything in the right order and I've been stuck on the ANDROID white letters for like 20 minutes, what do?

Alright man thanks, and I think I found out why I'm stuck on the ANDROID screen for so long, I saw on the original CM7.2 thread that some people were able to run Stock++ at 900MHz but it would freeze on CM7.2, you think that's what's wrong?

**EDIT: Unfortunately, that wasn't the problem, so I can't boot into CM7.2 v.v great... lol
