Root For all those running rooted stock...

OTOH, Phiremod v.6 should be released this week with the same, stable CM7. :D

Overclock kernel, Google apps and tweaks, all in one update.

So I'm about ready to bite on CM7. A few questions first.

Do I have to reset to stock first or can I do it over the current stock root?

Does CM7 leave the stock function like the stock root does? Especially kids books which don't work on the market ap.

You need to wipe data when installing CM7 so I'd recommend you install Titanium and backup your apps. Any paid apps in Market should be available to re-download and any paid books should also be available with the Nook or Kindle apps, but I have no experience with digital media. Here's some help with Titanium: http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/257054-titanium-backup-101-a.html

I'd also install Rom Manager and backup your current stock rom. If you don't like CM7, you can always reload your stock backup.

Since backups are stored on the sd card, you'll want to remove that and use a different one (2 gig works and is cheap) for installing CM7.

CM7 does NOT retain the stock reader. You'll need the Market version of Nook Reader for that.

CM7 then would kill using the read to me kids books on nook then, sine the market ap doesn't support them. Is there a way around it?:(
