ok so thisis what my understanding is under settings sd card/phone storage

sd card is obviously my sd card

then phone memory is the internal memory
and internal storage is ram?

my problem is when i go to settings manage applications and i chose an app like a game and click move to sd card i go back to sd card/phone memory and my sd card available space doesnt change at all... and i ve moved maybe 20 apps what i want is to keep most of my apps on the sd card not my internal ive used about 2gb of the 6gb phone memory

*Phone memory says total space; 5.22gb/ available space 3.32gb*

This has been an ongoing issue with my G2x as well. I got my G2x when it came out in April. The phone worked perfectly until the Gingerbread update in June. The update changed the memory paths so the phone thinks the internal 1 GB RAM is the internal memory and it thinks the 8 GB internal (5.44 after operating system and bloatware) is the SD card! Anything I would normally save to SD (apps, videos, pictures, music) gets saved on internal memory and my 16 Gb SD card sits idle. When Gameloft had their. 99 cent sale I bought four games (3.4 GB) and it filled my phone!
I and countless other G2x owners have informed T-Mobile and LG of this problem and they don't care. Their solution is to keep sending replacement phones at $20 each. Factory reset doesn't work. Its been 6 months and we haven't received a patch or update to solve this problem. We're stuck with a $249 "flagship" phone with only 5.44 Gb memory. I don't know anything about rooting or changing OS system so I don't want to try that.
After waiting months for a fix I asked T-Mobile if I could purchase the Galaxy S2 at the contract price of $299 to replace this phone. They refused on the grounds that I'm not due for update. They said I could get GS2 for $499! This was the last straw. I'm switching to Verizon and buying Nexus Prime.
