Galaxy ring cracked screen (project)

I found a galaxy ring bouncing in the street and it still powers on but the screen is as dark as an overcast night with no moon in timbuktu. I am trying to root then be able to display screen to my linux computer to possibly be able to use the phone as a tethering only device. If anyone has any insight on this please vocalize. The rooting guides I've been able to find so far involve .apk files that are booted through phone which do not help as I am unable to see what i am doing on the phone.


Any help would be much appreciated and maybe this can lead to recycling of old busted phones.

You say a cracked screen . correction its a digitalizer . and if u found a device why would u fix it . if it works turn on report it that u found and ask the person that lost the device if u can keep as a tinker toy .
