Well, I raided AT&T again. Looked at the HTC and still found the screen had a grey tint to it. Even full brightness. The S4 was cranked, I turned off the auto tune feature (what ever it is called). The brightness was better then the One, however. I had issues typing on the default keyboards since I am use to thumb keyboard.

Checked the ipad mini 4g and found it "stuttered" not sure where this android stutter comes from. Perhaps it is because the page was busy rendering in that case, both platforms do the same thing. I found it disturbing that when I went to weatherunderground on the ipad and iphone 5 it popped up telling me it had an app. In fact, I noticed that visiting certain sites, iOS tells me there is an "app for that" Kind of annoying.

The reason for looking at the iphone 5 and ipad mini is because my sister was looking into an ipad and I thought about giving her mine so I can get the 4g version, I wondered if I could get by on iOS. I don't think I could, but I may need to get used to it if google don't come out with a 4g nexus tablet at google I/O

But the more interesting thing I kind of got to is, everything is pretty much the same! Minor tweaks and rehash of the same thing across both platforms.

I walked out of AT&T empty handed. Again.

I thought a high resolution screen would be useful for radar maps, but, there don't seem to be a huge difference for the price of the upgrade right now.

1080p is played out, I am ready for 4K resolution screens :)

treb,

Should we change the name of this thread to the Candy Crush Watering Hole?

:security:

Hey..... ! The last time someone tried to change the name.....

Well, let's just say, it didn't work ;)
Guess that whole Treb's Tavern thing didn't work out for ya ;):p
So there's really no reason for me to upgrade from the S3 to the S4 is what you're telling us ?
Exactly. W/ all the features of the S4 coming to the S3 there really is no reason to upgrade. The only reason would be is for the 13 mp camera on the S4.

Just read first page since last time i visited and it had a dentistry vibe and it got me thinkin about how north americans think of "the brittish" having bad teeth and, speaking for Scotland, id say the stereotype fits. My mouth is a ruin of ancient castles. How many teeth does everyone have? Count them :) :humourme:

Wait, a Google edition of the galaxy s4? One helluva rumor from right field. But if its true, its T-Mobile bands. Way to stick it to me again, Samsung.

White nexus 4 perhaps? If so and its T-Mobile bands again then I am seriously going to be ticked. I jumped to at&t for the GSM bands and now T-Mobile is getting the more attractive to me devices?

Imo 2k and 4k screens will be utterly pointless, it's the next gimmick to sell large TV's, we have already passed the point where PPI are far more dense than the eye can actually benifit. To buy the next device because it's 2 or 4k would just be, imo, either idiotic, or for bragging rights. The only time they 'might' make a difference is on large scale projection, but for a TV, tablet or phone, pfft, no thanks.

Funky, last time I went to the dentist I found out I still have two baby teeth ;) :p

Treb, don't forget the faster CPU in the S4 ;) oh and bigger battery, and screen :p aaand the energy efficiency increase :D I'll still wait for the S5 though, or at least see what spec it turns out to be.
