Gmote it the perfect companion app for a media center computer, or any computer that you want to remote control or view media on.
The installation process on Android is no different than any other application, and the setup on the PC end is simple as well. Once you have the PC software up and running, simply connect your android device to your wireless network and then find your PC and enter your password. Gmote has two main function, media control and remote PC control. In PC control mode you can move your PC's mouse by using your devices touchscreen like a touchpad, this is very smooth and responsive. You can also use your devices keyboard on your PC, this works very good as well, although I have noticed a few issues with alternate keys (ie. the number keys on the Droid).
The media control portion is even more impressive. From your Android device you can browse all of you media files, when you find the one you want simply click it and it will automatically star playing on your PC, Gmote also gives you access to playback options.
All in all the application is very well written, has a simple and intuitive interface, and has a full featured free version. Although I strongly suggest you get the donate version because the application is just that good.
