Go back to Photon?

Hello everyone, new user here.

I recently returned my photon as to save my upgrade for something else. No problems with the phone and I found it to be pretty great (Being my first android/smartphone of any sort)

That first experience outside of cheapo free phones from sprint has me wanting to get back ASAP. The latest from HTC and the prospect of an upgraded Photon in the near future are what I think I'll shoot for. Is it worth saving the upgrade credit for?

Thanks for the advice.

At this point, if you still have an upgrade available I would hold on to it and see how you like the EVO LTE. The Photon is a great phone but it's nearing a year on in age, and if you can upgrade you may be better off with newer tech (i.e., LTE instead of WiMax). If you don't like the Evo, you can hold out a little bit longer for Sprint's version of Samsung's GS3, or whatever Moto might have in stock for us.

I agree with Citizen Coyote. I love my MoPho and if I were up for an upgrade I'd wait and look at the new LTE phones.

Ditto. If you're wanting a MOTOROLA on SPRINT w/ICS+LTE, your wait may soon be over.

MOTOROLA has announced a June release of such a phone in China. A similar model, w/LTE capabilities may be coming to the U.S. soon after.

I wouldn't suggest for anyone to wait for or buy any phone made by Samsung, unless they magically started producing better radios. I've had two Samsung's in my past 4 upgrades and it was constant dropped calls. Before my Photon I had a Sanyo which was ok, and the Photon, which is great. I can have one bar on my Photon and still have a perfect crystal clear call.

Thanks everyone, that is great news KOLIO! An upgraded MoPho would be awesome and I already like this wimax one a whole lot. It seems rooting the phone really brings out the hardware specs too.

The latest from Samsung isn't high on my list, I need something with a solid feel and that is definitely an aspect of the Photon I loved. If they put out a solid upgrade of the current phone, I'd be first in line.
