good things and issues with froyo update

Hey guys. Since froyo is available there will be some good things and some tricky issues with the update....let this thread be the place where we can discuss about tips and tricks and solutions to issues if any

I've upgraded to FroYo...and am dissapointed to the core...listing the exp below: -
Cons
1) Battery life (Pathetic)
2) No LWP ( I had LWP with eclair !!!!!)
3) Swype dsnt work
4) I get short of space error for my 16gb memory card (10 gb available there!!)...and unable to move all the aps to SD card
5) GPS is still buggy

Pros
1) WiFi tethering
2) colored icons :-|
3) pointer while typing text

yet to identify more benfits but at this point am really disappointed with this...

- battery life sucks even more
- GPS still does not work
- camera does not work (you can turn off positioning for it to work .. which is lame)
- swype is gone
- phone has become slow
- battery indicator that still does not work

Overall this phone is a let down.

hehe I used the roms from sam firmware, it works really well, gps still has issues though, battery is about the same maybe slightly better, the phone has only slowed down when playing doodlejump not sure why though everything else is fine, and live wallpapers sometimes bug but other than that all cool :D

Upgraded to Froyo from I5800LVIJG7 to I5800XWJPF

Pro:
- smoother/faster
- task app
- colored icons
- everything else like swype, wifi, bluetooth, etc. works great but with no improvement.

Cons:
- GPS still sucks, tried different config, gpsfix, etc. with no change, still sometimes takes like minutes to lock.

Do anyone knows if there is any newest firmware than I5800XWJPF ?

Thanks

Upgraded my Orange contracted I5801 to Official Froyo via Kies and, after a few initial problems, am happy with overall results.

Pros:

App to SD: the main reason I wanted/needed upgrade, though surprised by how many apps don't want to make the move.

Faster, smoother and more slick. Noticeably so.

Improved keyboard, including a pointer that will do the job of fat fingers when trying to insert a missing letter in a word or select text to be copied.

Settings icons look better! Woohoo! To be fair, there are some welcome tweaks in settings function, too.

Call answering graphics and response better, along with alarm shut-off: no more pressing harder and harder on the stop button first thing in the morning! Or is that just me?!

Battery calibration improved, thought not fixed. Will need longer to assess any battery life change.

New stock task manager makes uninstalling or killing apps easy. No more Adao tyranny! Kidding guys, your stuff still awesome.

Tethering.

And the cons...

No GPS fix.

No Flash. (Try Skyfire as a browser to see Flash vids, which has a conversion function).

For me, there were glitches after upgrade, even after several soft resets. Apps hung up and messaging a bit crumbly. Factory reset seems to have settled everything down, but that's a pain, as ever, especially if Google account password flees your brain for several hours.

Contacts back-up with Orange unsuccessful. Asks for password and user name I can't remember giving. Website that is back-up for the back-up is "down for maintenance". Most details copied to sim, thankfully.

New stock task manager can't quickly close non-third party apps: needs force close. Trying to run Adao's task app alongside stock made for instability. Stock won.

All bloatware still there, plus something called AllShare, which tells me I can beam content from my phone to other stuff in my house. Initial attempts unsuccessful. All help appreciated, but I think It's steering ppl towards buying a particular type of Samsung TV.

I wasn't that bothered about updating to FroYo so didn't bother rooting, but I updated a couple of days ago via Kies (On Orange UK) and everything seems fine. It all went smoothly and took about 15 mins. I backed up my contacts using Kies, although it turns out I didn't need to because everything was fine when I restarted. Contacts, memos and messages still intact, widgets in the right place, even the wallpaper was unchanged. A few apps such as My Tracks, K9 Mail and Words With Friends have had their data wiped, but that's hardly a problem. I seemed to be having problems with the camera crashing after updating, but after using it a few times and a few restarts it's back to normal again. Battery seems better, GPS is the same (works fine outside, a bit dodgy indoors which is to be expected), Swype works and the keyboard is improved. No complaints.

Since updating, I've had an issue with the app2sd function of Froyo. Home screen shortcuts of any app moved to the memory card disappear after phone restarts.
Have switched to Go Launcher as a temporary solution and apps load fine.
I've heard that solution might be to reformat sd card on PC to Fat32.
Can anyone confirm if this is the case?
