Google Now Launcher

Has anybody installed this launcher on the MG? I was reading an article on how to sideload it but I'm not sure if it's worth installing. I"m currently using Nova Launcher Prime.

What are the benefits of using this? Will I have voice commands similar to what Moto X have? Reading the comments from the article, the users seem to not like it, plain & boring.

I tried it for a few minutes (on another phone) and went right back to Nova. Not impressed.

The article mentions you would need KitKat 4.4...I'll hold off on installing it for now. I just wanted to know if it would use the voice commands like the Moto X does.

I used it for a while on my G2 but finally caved and went back to Nova Prime. I miss resizing and changing the icons too much. Also, a swipe up for Now is just as easy as swiping over to the left.

I used it way back when it was pretty beta, but seeing how often the Dev updates it (posts from G+), I imagine it's gotten a lot better. Recall it being quite a battery hog though.

I love it. I've used nova and honestly think it's boring as well. I like the stock android experience. That's really the only benefit to using the Google experience launcher imo.

I often side loaded it to whatever jellybean phone I was using battery drain wasn't ever an issue

I just got Smart Launcher 2 last night and it has an option for Ok Google. After I installed it, I went to the Preferences (three vertical dots on the upper right corner in the app drawer) and then Plugins, it's the last option.

It says "Enable hotword detection (it works only if you set your system language to English)"

Works from the home screen, not from the lock screen FYI.
