Help Google Sync Contacts Issue

Don't know if anyone can help me with this but I'm trying to sync my contacts but am getting an error. Last date it shows it sync'd was Jun10 2011 4 pm. I get the circle with a little red box and a"!" in it. Says Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.

Problem is I tried for day with no luck.......any ideas? Thanks!

Did you perhaps change your google account recently (password)?

if 9to5's suggestion doesn't work, you can always delete the contacts data and re-sync. Sometimes, the contacts storage data gets corrupted and you can't sync.

For those trying to sync their google gmail contacts to their android, but are having problems, specifically, the error which reads

"sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"

perform the following, and then click back to contacts to see your contacts re-populate. If they do not, go to accounts and sync, and manually sync the contacts.
