Root Half Bricked phone, now no 2g / 3g internet connection

Hi all,

I had previously updated from default 1.4 (I think) to 1.6 galaxo without any major issues. I thought I would give Gaosp a go. After multiple attempts at getting it to go on, I eventually got it to boot but it didn't seem to be running correctly. (I had tried beta 2). I thought I would try the nightly to see if it went any better.

The long and the short of it is that I managed to get the phone into a continuous boot loop. Then I managed, whilst trying to clean up the files to get it to boot into the OS, delete the rectools.tar.gz. I then ended up at mini recovery. ADB was not detecting the phone at all. No OS and no recovery options, was getting rather nervous at this point. Found a link that talked about Odin (Update Samsung Galaxy GT-I7500 to Android 1.6-Step by Step

I'm glad you fixed your issue. Even without checking the website you posted, I'm pretty sure this would be the APN settings for your internet connection. ;)

The "fix package permission" option is only going to help you apply a theme or stuff like that after an update.

Since you seem to still have the custom recovery, you should simply use the Drakaz application since your phone is probably rooted already. If the application doesn't work, you should boot in recovery mode and select the "root this phone" option (it should be similar to that). And then the application should work. ;)

Thanks for the advice. To be honest I didn't know what the permissions fix was for. I have done the root bit, and will try Drakaz's app later today.

Thanks again.
