Handcent links service SMSs to a Facebook contact!!!

Okay, now this is weird!

I use Handcent SMS on my HTC Hero. I have also recently updated to Android 2.1. Recently I have received a couple of service SMS messages from different companies (bank mini-statements, adverts, etc.) which in itself is okay, but Handcent has been linking them to one of my Facebook contacts!

It only happens when I get a SMS from a non-regular phone number or a short number. Its always the same Facebook contact, but I don't have this person as a regular contact in my phone or Google contacts and their phone number is not on their FB profile!

I checked the stock messaging app to make sure it wasn't anything else and that was fine, so it's definitely a Handcent thing.

Anyone else experience this?

For the record, I'm based in Norway on Telenor network.
 
Use the option to not show FB contacts in Handcent. The option can be found at Social Network Settings.
 
Aaaagggghh! It didn't work, I'm still getting the service messages linked to the same FB contact. I had one just now from Norwegian directory enquiries and it linked to the FB contact.

I think I might contact the developers....
 
i'm having the exact same problem, getting messages from my bank and phone provider but saying that it's from somebody from facebook!

Yes I'm getting this same problem.
Services messages all say they're from a FB contact(T-Mob etc!)

The standard app correctly distinguishes between service messages and FB...

UK, T-Mobile with a G2 Touch.

Help?
