Happy World Animal Day! Today is a day to spend some extra time with your pet, spoil it, give it an extra hug, give its cage an extra cleaning. Show your pet, tell us why you love it, how you treat it today.

I have two cats. They were waiting for us next to the bed room door when we woke up this morning, strategically positioned so we would be tripping over them. We picked them up and gave them a hug.

Didn't know it was animal day, but did know it's National Vodka Day AND National Taco Day!! Can't go wrong with that combination.

It's always animal day here in my house, they don't need a special day to be spoiled...can't really be any more spoiled than they already are!

I've posted so many pics of my children in other threads, I almost feel guilty posting more here. But I will! :D

Off to find some good ones...

Okay, here we go! As I've said many times, Joy Noelle is my little princess. I've had her since she was five weeks old; this month she'll turn nine.

Baby pictures; keep in mind two Great Danes were milling about--and these pics were taken within hours, to days, of getting her:

Mommy's outside...better keep an eye on her!:

Time for a snooze...wrapped around my indoor grass Mommy grows for me:

DON'T view these if you're fainthearted. Joy was very sick, and almost died, from some mystery ailment.

The "mean man" (as she calls her vet, since he's always doing things like sticking her with needles) kept her all day for IV fluids and meds; he bandaged her with her favorite color, pink; this was at the beginning of the illness, before the horrible sores got really bad:

A few days ago, on her "Joy" pillow, next to Mommy:

Joy is funny, cute, silly, loving, affectionate--on HER terms--and I adore her. :D

And I forgot to add: The other five cats defer to her at all times. They're very aware of her place as the princess of the house.
