Hello ek se! :)

Well, I don't know if any of you guys have eve had a hernia before?

I thought only women got them because when I was a lot younger my mom had a lot so I stupidly thought that only women got them! :D:D:D

Well I have got a really big 1 on my right the surgeon says.

He says it feels quite bad my 1 on the right and he says he thinks there are another 2 small ones?

I was having extreme stomach pain - extremely extreme! :D

So I went to the Quack / doctor octopus.

And now I am going in on Wednesday for an operation - luckily it is only 90 minutes long hey they estimate!! :D

I will be out chop chop and feel like a MILLION BUCKS to give millions of awesome Piggy Back rides at work - (at least this is what I thought at first!) :(

He asked me what do I work for a living etc etc.

I then said After care part time job - he then said because I do a lot of "Piggie Back rides ( :D)" and stuff he now says I must not come in to work now for 1 maybe 2 weeks!?!

What the heck?!?!!?!

So now I am going to MISS MY LIFE for 2 weeks now!? :(

ugh!

I am not looking forward to it at all man/// :(

I will more than likely be able to go home straight after the operation he said but when I told him about the cool stuff running around playing with "Lighties Incorporated :D" he said no work for 1 maybe 2 weeks at most????

:-(

By the way! :)

I got my kids a Wii for them to mess around with! :D

SHAW they are GOOD at that thing!

WOOOOOOOOW

xD

heh!

xD :D:D:D

Shaw they beat my bacon every time bruizer! :D

I also got the Wii for myself for weekends.... I LOVE YOU METROID PRIME!!!!!

On a roll!

SO

Who here hates hernias and operations wasting your time in general? :D

(I am just joking about the wasting time thing! - I know it needs to be done le sigh. :( )

My husband has had two hernias, one on each side. The first surgery (a couple years ago) was pretty rough--he e-mailed me pics of his private parts all blue and red and black. (For anyone who doesn't know, we're technically divorced, and we live apart, but we're LIKE THIS.) Last year's operation wasn't nearly as bad, as it was done laparoscopically. He flew here immediately after the operation, straight from the hospital to the airport (it was outpatient surgery), and I made sure he did no lifting at all while he was here recuperating. But it was hard for him to resist when our beautiful little grandsons were here at the same time!

Honey, I've had *SO* many operations I literally do not remember them all. I'm hoping my most recent one, that pesky little middle fossa craniotomy (to remove a brain tumor), will be it for a while!

PS Why haven't you replied yet to my most recent PM, young man? :questionmark: :frown: ;)

My dad had to have the same surgery, though he was in the waiting line for about 3 months or so. He only had to stay overnight and when I went to pick him up, he looked much better. Though he had to take about 3 weeks off work to rest.

Don't tell me that!

:-(

My doctor said 7 days not 3 looooong weeks!

I ahve got a job to do!

I love my work very very mnuch! :(

aww man this really just stinks now!

Why did the doctor 7 - 14 days when it could be 3 weeks!?!

I need to write exams with in about 3 weeks!

NO MAN.

I explained all of this to the damn doctor!

But he did say it won't be too long...? :(

i hope so... ahh man. :(

Ahh sorry where are my manners?

:-/

I am sorry to hear about your dad man.

:-(

hmmm.

I asked him and said the operation will only take about 1 - max 2 hours long but he wants me to take it easy for the next 7 maybe 14 days.

He did say it might be a bit longer though...

I am not aa happy chappy now.

:-(

I am going to miss my work.

I love my job.

The kids already think it is the end of the universe and they really don't like the teacher that will be taking over! :D

I am the over the moon when I am very admired / appreciated. :)

but i am going to miss work though... :(

ugh.

It's alright, he made a full recovery but I guess since he had to wait a few months before the surgery and because he needs to do heavy lifting at work he had to take more time off.

Calm down, Mr StinkyLivesInADumpster. Let me explain a few things about doctors and surgery: They're almost ALWAYS going to tell you the most optimistic result. In your case, that means trimming the expected recovery time so it doesn't sound so bad.

But what happens is you go in, you get the surgery done, and you go home thinking, "okay, a week...maybe 10 days...that's not so bad. I can catch up on reading, or maybe watch some movies I've been meaning to see, or go through those stacks of mail I've neglected, or SLEEP! have breakfast in bed! :) Yay. Not bad!"

THEN reality hits. :( Day 5 comes and goes, then day 6, 7, 8...and you're thinking, "hmmmmm...I should be back to normal by now...but I still feel like shit!" :hmmmm2:

They do this to make it seem less daunting, less awful, going in. But it has the opposite effect when you come out the other end and find out what they REALLY meant was 2, 3, or more times the number they told you.

Here's a good one. The day before my brain surgery we spent the whole day with the doctors and at the hospital, going over every aspect of the operation, its risks, its expected complications, its possible complications, etc. The lead neurosurgeon told my husband and me that there was a 1 in 500 chance of not surviving the surgery. We thought that was pretty bad. You know what we found out later? He added a zero to that number--to make it sound less awful. It was really a 1 in 50 chance of not surviving. But he didn't want me to know that going in. :)

So, with all that out of the way, how about this?: Can you delay the surgery? If the hernia is not creating an emergency/life-or-death/must do it RIGHT NOW situation, see about postponing it. Arrange it for a time that works better with your schedule, and/or gives you the opportunity to rearrange things in your personal/work lives. It's worth talking to the doctor about, right?

Just take it freaking easy, check on your kids by surrogate and let them know you miss them, and hang out with your friends here.

It sounds awful - BUT YOU WILL SURVIVE LIKE YOUR NAMESAKE!!

Time will make things pass, and you will enjoy yourself more in the end.

Don't worry Wayne:) you will be just fine! You are still young..ish:D so you should be able to bounce back pretty quick! The older you are the more complicated a hernia surgery is..including down time...you will need to stay home to recuperate for a few...but barring any complications I'm sure you will be able to return to work in no time... as long as you are not lifting and piggy back riding the kids!! I'm sure you can find fun things to do with them AND take it easy at the same time! Kids are smart...they will understand...and most likely will watch out for you and have to remind YOU to take it easy!!:D

I had a double hernia when I was 15. I was bundling weeds and loading the bundles on a truck as part of a summer work program for teens. This was back in the 70's and the surgery went fine. I spent a day a couple of dsys in the hospital for observation afterwards. Felt fine when I got home but I was restricted on what I could lift for a couple of weeks afterwards.

Don't sweat it stinky. Medical tech has mafe huge advancements over the folloeing decades. You'll be fine.

Thanks guys. :)

Yeah - you are right not too bad... not bad at all. :)

The other reason why I am slightly a bit upset about being at home - is the negative, pushing, infuraiting, insulting environment I have here at home.

Negative place this.

I cant stand it.

This is the main reason really - and I love work - it's just so positive compared to being here. :(

People find me very strange.... as soon as some 1 gives me affection / appreciation - I jump right out of my seat.

It is like I have never been appreciated before and I can't get enough of it.

I have issues with the creatures here at this place.

This is the main reason why I don't want to be off work.

sad...... yeah........ I already know it far too well.

:-(

I feel like I am being drained / suffocated here.

I need my work actually.

I don't even study at home.

I like to study at work (very peaceful there) as I am the last 1 to leave so I lock up.

.......... I am really not looking forward to this.

Sorry if I seemed angry - it is because I am.

:-(

Do you guys want to know what is the MOST unhealthiest thing that will ever exist....???

No.

It is not a hernia.

It is not a heart attack.

It is not cancer.

The most unhealthiest thing in the entire ******* PLANET ... in ALL EXISTENCE .... the most unhealthiest thing in the WHOLE WORLD... is....

NEGATIVE ENERGY

I cannot stand negative bull shit.

This is by far the most unhealthiest any 1 will ever come across.

Period.

Nothing comes close to it.

Nothing.

:D

This came to my trolly mind before I was about to be anesthetized by "Doctor Beard" the bearded doctor. :)

I started talking with that squeaky yanky doodle voice with the opening lines of this show and they all cracked them selves and called me the 6 million dollar Joker! :D

GENTLEMEN ... we can rebuild him.

We have the technology.

We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man.

Better.

Stronger.

And more arrogant than before! :D

And then I did the whole cheap sound effect when he runs:

"shuckkkckckck.... shuuuckckckc :D"

Then they said "let's quickly knock this guy out before he laughs us to death! :D

They said I am very funny. :D

lol bruizer!

I asked them "are you gonna sell my left kidney on the black market?

Are you gonna buy a ferrari with my crack infested kidney? :):):)"

shuuucka shuuucka shuucka.... shuucka shuuck shuuucka shucka!

xD

Wow check out this legendary ancient stuff I found!

Is it meant to be a rip off or mocking Spider Man? :D

I love it! :D
