HDMI Cable on Laptop?

Hey guys!
i thought why not try to plug my Lg 2x into the laptop as it has a 17 screen! Play good games on it and such !

well it doesnt work D: its works with TVs so why not a laptop?

Im guessing this just doesnt work at all but any tips?

you cant connect to your laptop because your tv has hdmi in ( which takes input from mobile) whereas your laptop has hdmi out (which connects your laptop to tv)
your laptop is meant to connect to tv not mobile because how can an input device (laptop) can get input from another input device( ur phone)
