Help Headset maximum volume going down

My original sets worked fine for a while , but then the maximum volume suddenly started to go down more and more.

Even though the volume was set to maximum on the phone, the actual volume was lower than when I first bought the phone.

Now I bought some ear pods. Initially they worked fine, loud volume as expected ... but in like one week ... the volume also went down on them. Again, even though I had maximum volume on walkman, the volume was still lower than when I first got the ear pods.

What is happening?

Android 4.1.2.

Sorry I can't help with your problem. All I would say is this. If I had to turn my phone up the maximum volume, the sound would be unbearably loud, so there must be some issue.

A bit drastic, I know, but have you tried doing a factory reset?
