Hello. I have read this forum before but finally decided to join. I am already thinking that my pc replacement will be a tablet. I have seen what windows 8 looks like and I will not be buying a pc with that on it. I also won't spend $1,200+ for a mac!

So I am looking forward to learning all I can about the Android tablets since that will also dictate what my next phone is.

I have had the HTC Thunderbolt for over a year so hopefully I can help others while learning a thing or two.

Hello and welcome to the forums. Depending on your usage, a tablet could definitely replace a pc. Though, have you looked into Windows 7? It's a very 'tradition' desktop - no metro nonsense.... Also, you might want to look into Linux. Personally, I love linux and if not for my dialup modem, I'd likely use it exclusively.

I don't follow the tablet market too closely, but I've heard good things about the transformer line from (I believe) asus.

Again, welcome to the forums!

Allinone, on behalf of the Staff and the Members here at AF we would like to welcome you, :ciao:, look around and enjoy. :congrats:

Welcome to AF allinone1! I have an Acer Iconia A500 and it works great for browsing, email, multimedia and light gaming. I can even print wirelessly and edit MS office documents on it. So in many use cases an Android tablet could be a great pc replacement. Thanks for joining up!
