HELP! Games downloading automatically from Play Store!

pusman83

Newbie
I've got an S3 and since the last Play Store update a few days ago, I've had half a dozen games automatically download to my phone. I haven't browsed them, searched them or interacted with them. :(

How can I stop this?

Games are:

Transformers Legends
Book of Heroes
2020: My Country
Spellstorm
Doubledown Casino
Nemo's Reef

Sounds like it's time to go into your Google Play Store app in the Application Manager and clear all data and cache via the buttons in there. I'd even uninstall it and reinstall, but that's up to you.

Then reboot your device and see how things go from there. Should clear out the issue.

Did you try going to data usage in settings and scroll down to Play store and check "restrict background data"? Not an ideal solution but might be a work around until you find something more permanent.

Not a bad idea, I'll try it!

Orbitz auto-downloaded today, even if I haven't accepted the Play Store Terms and Services.

I had the same problem and was finally able to fix it.
First make sure you do not have appcaster installed on your phone.
I believe that started the whole problem, and may have installed the proble program on my PC.
There was an app that somehow was installed on my PC (windows 7- 64bit)
It was called syncapp.exe and looked like a legitimate app except the it said the publisher was publisher.
As soon as I uninstalled/remove that application through the control panel and rebooted my computer life has been good.
It is not picked up as spyware or a virus, kind of weird. It was on the PC that I use to access and synch my gmail.
Hope it works for you
