Help Help! SMS links dead

Since running the HTC RUU for ics (at least I think that was when it started) any text messages I receive that contain an html link do not activate the browser (or phone) when clicked.

I've tried removing the battery and sim card and have run through all settings which I can find that might be applicable but NADA, NICHTS, NIENTE.

Does anyone have any ideas that I might try?

Read that others have this issue too.
I need to send myself an sms with a link in it to test. I may do some research, but for me personally the issue will not cause hair loss.

You may be interested to know that I just found out today (from my cellnet provider, NOT HTC) that that 'option' was dropped by HTC in the upgrade to ics !!

But did HTC tell me in all the online session with them about the problem? OOH NO!
