Hi friends thanks for checking this post

well it seems that I have tried everything I could (before giving up)
and I cant seem to sync my RAZR HD with my macbook

they even have a software called Moto Cast and another one called Motorola media link, I have downloaded both of them but the laptop simpl does not recognize my phone when I plug it in via USB

anybody have any clue of whats happening? any ideas will be appreciated

thanks

It's a Mac, so it's not a matter of downloading drivers.

I don't know this software or phone, but I as a test could you install Google's Android File Transfer tool and see whether that works?

Android 4 uses MTP rather than USB mass storage, and that is a Windows protocol. If AFT works (lets you browse and copy files using the Finder) then it will confirm that the phone to computer connection works.

AFT used to work swimmingly for everything except the odd Samsung with built-in MTP errors.

Beginning with people upgrading to Mountain Lion it became a situation where some Macs won't work with some phones, where they did before.

If all else fails, try out some of the wifi solutions like AirDroid or an ftp server.

If, by chance, you updated your Mac to "Mavericks" there is a known problem now, which doesn't have a fix yet. For sure with Android File Transfer.

My phone worked with AFT and Mavericks until I updated to 4.3, then AFT wouldn't detect it. Don't know whether this is HTC - specific or a 4.3 issue generally. I found a recipe for using an app called DriveDroid on the phone to set the connection so that the laptop found it when connected. However that does require root, so probably won't help here.
