Apple and Samsung largely dominate mobile device sales, but experts think that CES 2016 could be a turning point and that the brand new "honor" brand from Huawei could become the next dominant force in American consumer electronics:

That's a pretty bold prediction, but it seems like people are really expecting honor to have some awesome announcements. What do you think? What will it take for honor to steal customers from the likes of Apple and Samsung?

We won't know anything until it's out in the market. I think that nowadays competition in the mobile device field is getting more and more precise. What consumer's do not understand is that it's not always about getting more options or "bigger the better." It's about stability and price. Price wise I'm sure Huawei will be a competitor. But the question always comes down to quality for all the mobile giants. Good read Rob!

My oldest step son went from a Note II to a Huawei P8 Lite and loves it. I know the P8L is a couple of years newer, but it is also 1/3 the price of the Note line. It could be a real opportune time for a company like Huawei to push into the US market as the carriers transition into non-subsidized phone offerings and Americans start to realize what the bobble in their pocket really costs.

For a good price I'd sure like to try something new out! I've been a Samsung guy for years but don't mind branching out to try new things.

Stability, dependability, less to no bloatware, and quality build will swing my gate.
On my Huawei phones get some weird bloat options. The upside is that it us uninstallable and they usually put it all in the "Top Apps" folder on the second homepage so you don't have to hunt around for it.;)

just hope the radio is good on this one, supports vzw, has an unlocked bootloader, has ddr4 memory, and runs cool and fast enough. so far my moto x pure does me well but without out these key features its a no go for me.

I'd be interested if any of their phones were allowed on VZW. They tend to be really protective of what devices they allow on their network. I answered your questions about the chipset in another thread, and if I'm right there, I'd expect heating issues similar to the P8 Lite that I have. Not terrible, but noticible when under extreme load such as the optimizing apps stage of an update.

that doesn't sound too bad. I just had a lg g3 and that sucker used to heat up so badly. I couldn't take pics of my friends wedding in june due to it hitting its thermal guard over and over. I thought the battery would burst lol.

I've been using the P8 Lite since April (I think) and never had an issue like that. And I was snapping pics in 100 degree heat in Jamaica.
