How can I watch video on computer?

When I transfer video to my computer from my Hero It will not play, some video will , but it has no sound just the picture. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong...Help me...

What program are you using on your computer to watch the video? I personally prefer and recommend VLC.

So I installed vlc and trying to figure it out . I open the program and browse for a file that I want vlc to open and from there o don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can someone tell me how to watch a video on it . Sorry, new to all of this .

right click on the video file and click play using VLC or you might have to go to open with... then choose VLC

Thank you . Yeah I have no idea what is going on. I see the video and when I tap the play with vlc icon it tells me vlc does not support the file., frustrated .

This is video you recorded with the Hero? Whats the file extension?

How can I find that out ? What file setting should it be. Thank you .

well if you recorded it with the phone it'll be a .3GPP which VLC plays

Nah, I don't think there is anything you could change on the phone that would change the video format. Does the video play on the phone?

Just convert the video into a different format. I use format factory.

Icrash, it plays just fine on the phone, Windows media will at least open the video, it just has no sound, vlc can not reconize the format at all. Strange . How would I go about changing the format like the other member suggested. Thanks .
