How do I get my slide-lock back when it disappears?

Droid X2 - the slide lock randomly disappears. I haven't downloaded ANYTHING, haven't changed anything at all. It was working fine the first few weeks I've owned it, then suddenly, when I tried to use my phone, I couldn't access anything because my slide-lock was gone and there was no means of entering the phone to use it. This has since happened several times a day and all I can do to get back into the phone is to use another phone to call myself: when I answer the call, then I'm in, but later, I'm stuck out again without a slide-lock. What's going on and how do I get my slide-lock to work properly?

Your best course of action would be to backup your contacts and user data / pictures and things and do a Factory reset on your device. Here's the link to your device on our forums search around for others that may have found the answer already
