How do I move Excel and Word Files to desktop?

I need to access files as soon as possible (customers on the phone need me to give them info that i have saved on an excel file). Does nayone know how to put files on desktop?

You can use an app like Airdroid to do it wirelessly (if the desktop has a wifi connection), or you can plug the phone into the desktop (it has to have the SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones installed) and drag the files from the phone (which will appear as a new drive on the desktop) to the desktop.

If all you need is the data, there are apps that read Excel files right on the phone.

Oops. I didnt mean my desktop. I meant my Android Home Screen. Like, i want to put excel files on my home screen for quick instant access.

Sorry i thought home screen was called desktop as well

Pretty sure Google Drive can do this... (Yes, just tried and pinned a shortcut to a Word Document).

I think OneDrive also does this, and integrates directly with Office Mobile and OneNote Mobile on Android.

You create a shortcut to the file you want on your desktop by long-clicking the desktop and choosing "add shortcut" or similar wording.

The the screen will change to ask you which file manager you want to use to pick the file you want to add as a shortcut. I use X-plore file manager, but the "explore" option is okay too

Then when you've found the file you either click on it or press the check/tick next to it and click on, and then an icon with the name of the file will be put on the desktop ready to open at any time.

The error in the video that happens when I open the file only happens because I previously shut the word document program down without saving the file. As I only made the file for this video & don't want to save or keep it.
