Help How do I redeem free $10 Google Wallet credit?

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Nexus in April 2012 and it is supposed to come with $10 Google Wallet credit. Now I've opened up Google Wallet but I dont see my $10 anywhere... My balance is $0

That's a long time ago. Didn't you check in 2012 after you got the phone?

Apparently not. I don't remember seeing an expiration date though.

Last October, they changed the way Google Wallet worked. Previously, they issued you a virtual prepaid debit card, and the $10 would be deposited on that card when you activated Wallet. The new system you register your credit/debit cards that you wish to use with Google Wallet. When they changed the system, the free credits were discontinued and any credits left on the debit card expired.

So, to make the long story short, you needed to have activated Wallet and used the credit prior to last October.
