Root How to go back to Stock Gingerbread?

It seems to work better on my phone before the ICS. How do I go back to the original OS?

Google one click stock nexus s 4g, d/l out, click it, make a sammich, come back to your now stock phone.

Used PDAnet to install the drivers, it ran and says successful, phone reboots, and it's still

ICS!

Does the device need to be rooted prior to running the One Click Stock?

I returned it to stock from cyogen 9, prog made it ginger, i then ran the update so it's stock ics. If you ran the stock update, perhaps ics is the hard wired back up for recovery.

This sucks, ICS is so much slower than Gingerbread on this thing.
