How to prevent OTA update

Hi,

I got a new lucid, its on ics v7. I had v8, and didn't like it. How do I stop my phone from auto updating?

I am rooted, but can't seem to find anything.

After finding many methods which did not work, this did. (I think, I can't check for updates so...)

Note that I had to download es file explorer and mount /system as rw.

Anyone have any ideas? It tried installing again....

EDIT: tried making FOTA folder read only... we'll see how that goes.

Well I got updated this morning so its whatever now. thanks though.

Does everyone have it where if they type something and use the punctuation in the suggesetions thing to use like two !'s that it spaces them?

Use the paid version of titanium Backup. you can freeze the OTA software update app.
