how to protect your phone?

yes indeed the essence is that you must love and care for your phone and not subject it to conditions / situations where it will break .. else nothing will save it ..

but much like putting a strong frame on a car or airbags into cars .. or protective gear for motorcycles .. precautions can be taken

as accidents do happen

so let's discuss both:

A) good practices you follow ?

and

B) what gear .. do you use to protect your phone ?

as these somewhat interlink...

for me:

probably the best aspect I can share is that I get a case with raised edges - as much as possible - in case it falls screen flat .. it will not shatter ..

as for other basics:

practices:
well I love and respect my phone ..

* I never put it in places where damage could arise .. I never put it on a bed .. on a sofa or etc .. (as my gf does..)

* I never put it on a floor .. floor could get liquid spill .. someone could stand on it ..

* I never put it on an edge .. where if bumped it could fall and shatter ..

* I will add more to this

* HMM WHAT ELSE .. WHAT DO YOU DO?

gear:

* I put a screen protector from first minute ..

* I put a best case that I can find ..

* I put a wrist string on the case sometimes ..

* hmm maybe I could use other practice to prevent from losing it ..

* HMM WHAT ELSE .. WHAT GEAR DO YOU GET / USE?

thank you ..

I get insurance through my bank,I take care of my phone, but I'm not overly protective! At worst, I've got backups on my sd card and my computer so if it gets really badly damaged I call insurance, pay

Sturdy case yes, screen protector no, because the case I got has a flap that completely covers the screen when the phone is not in use. e.g. in my pocket. It's actually a smart cover as well, so when cover is opened screen comes on, and vice versa.

I'll add a couple more about potential liquid damage.

Leaving it on a table in bars and restaurants. Because there are usually drinks on the table and accidents do happen, especially when people have had a few.

Toilets, you've been sitting down or crouching, pull pants up, phone falls out of pocket, and sod's law says it's going to go into the pan....plop!!. I've known people do that more than once.

I keep my phone on a belt pouch that has a magnetic flap. When going to the toilet, I would put the phone aside somewhere before dropping my pants. You never know if when you undo your belt if the punch would slide off and fall into the drink.
