Settings --> Wireless controls --> Mobile networks --> Enable always-on mobile (uncheck it)

I couldn't believe the increase in battery life! You still get your push Gmail & Google Talk.

Search for 'Widget' in the Market, there is a great Wifi on/off toggle as well as a Bluetooth and Brightness.

Really great little Widgets you can then place on the main desktop.

Enjoy :)

Hmm... dont have this setting. On T-Mobile in US.

Rogers in Canada has this setting. My 'other' emails (pop, exchange) don't receive anything when i do this unfortunately so its not an option.

ya I tryed it on my Rogers Magic save the battery thats for sure but your email updates don't work with this setting. so I turned it back on.

Thanks for the find.. I'll have to try it on mine and see how much of a difference it makes.. Does anyone know if using this method will still save battery life if I have a) Gmail pushed and b) calendar sync via google calendar.. Just wondering.. I can't see why not but just thought I'd through it out there

I usually check emails on computer anyway.. i get all 3 of my email sent to my gmail page.. os is that the only thing i will lose by turning this off?
