How to take advantage of Hi Fi sound?

We have all heard about this phones awesome sound quality. I'm a little confused on how to use this feature. Will it work on all mp3s I'm my collection of do I have to download special HI Fi audio? Will Google play, play Hi Fi or do I need special software?
 
The lg music player plays hi if audio but you need audio files that are encoded in a higher format than normal mp3. Usually flac or aiff
