Help HTC Desire HD factory reset help

Hi I posted on the wrong phone thread. I'm trying to factory reset my phone but when I'm trying to do the VOL DOWN + POWER button the HTC splash logo goes up rather than the HBOOT. I forgot the password and I can't do it on the option menu. Thanks in advance!

Can you boot the phone up normally?

Are you rooted?

Even if you aren't you might be able to use terminal emulator to boot into bootloader (I used it to get into recovery before)
