Root "HTC.pbg stopped unexpectedly " - what is going on?

I get this error but things seem to be working ok.

But when I try to do nandroid backup, it gets suck on the white HTC evo screen, no buttons worked so I had to do a battery pull, then got this error as soon as it Booted back up and now I still get the error occasionally and I haven't Been able to duo a nandroid since and it grets stuck on the white htc evo screen.

Sorry if this has Been asked And answered, I did search first

what is your hboot version, what rom are you running. what recovery?

Have you tried a full wipe?...and maybe installing a fresh new ROM?

um, I am rooted, unrevoked 3.21, my hboot version is whatever comes with that (??) no customs ROMs installed yet as I don't want to try any until I can get a nandroid backup, which I cant do cuz I am stuck on the white screen after selecting backup from rom mananger.

no, I have not tried a wipe yet, trying to avoid that if possible

download rom manager and flash clockwork recovery and see what that does
