I Could Use Your Advice On Which Phone I Should Get Over The S3?

Ok so I got an S3 through Wal-Mart/Verizon's partnership deal and essentially it was of course 97 cents. I can't complain about that but I'm worried since it is of course already a 2 year phone and I'm singing a 2 year contract for these prices.

I've done a lot of research and I have been seriously considering getting the HTC One phone today as it seems like an amazing phone though it COSTS 100 DOLLARS!

Also the lady working at wally world told me that they are very hard to impossible to get the back off of so you can replace the battery. I'm very confused as to what I should do?

I still have almost 2 weeks to take the S3 back and exchange it for the HTC One by paying 100 dollars is all. It's the 32 Gigabyte HTC One. What would you do?

I really appreciate your help guys! Thanks!

Both phones are really good so basically, you can't go wrong.

Personally, I'd go for the HTC One: it's painfully pretty, beautifully built and has a top drawer spec. It's a year younger than the S3 so the hardware is better (not that much of big deal these days, of course).

Non-removeable batteries can be an issue for heavy users who do not have access to power during the day and need to use a spare battery - though you can get battery based chargers as an alternative. My 18 month old Nexus 4 has a non-removable battery and it has never been an issue for me.

Having said that, the S3 is a really good phone and will probably be perfectly adequate for the next 2 years - phones have pretty much reached the stage that PCs reached a decade or more ago in that most people really don't need the latest and greatest. As the HTC One is a year younger than the S3 it might get one more Android update than the S3 over the next 18 months, but again, most of the good stuff is released through Play Store updates rather than OS updates these days.

The HTC One is a unibody design. It is not designed to have the user remove and replace the battery. The HTC One also does not have an SD card slot. If you find you are running out of storage on your phone, you cannot increase it. These there the two advantages the SGS3 has over the One.

The One is better in most other aspects due to it being a newer phone. The One has received some very good reviews when it was released. You'll have to decide if it is worth the extra $100.

I've had my SGS3 since July 2012. It's been a very good phone for me. I don't plan on changing phones for at least another year. I felt it has gotten a little better since I bought it (due to OS updates). I don't plan on changing phones for at least another year.

I posted this same basic answer in another thread, but here goes.

Unlocked S3's go for about the same as locked S4's right now. So, you can use it for 6 months, then get your carrier to unlock it. If you don't like it at that point, sell it on ebay and buy a used S4.

So I went with the HTC One phone. Thus far it seems like a decent phone, however while only having it one full day and one full charge the battery doesn't seem like it's as good as it COULD and maybe should be we'll see. The features and the HTC One sense though are amazing, solid, and fast a heck.

Itl take a couple of full charge/discharges before you see what the battery life is really like mate.
Really nice phone man, enjoy ;)

Brand new batteries tend not to last as long as batteries that are a few weeks old. When I bought my first smartphone in 2010, it was the Nokia N97. The manual says that new batteries will have a shorter life than batteries a few weeks old. That seems to be my observation with all of the phones I have used recently.

It could also be that you use brand new phones more as you play with it more. Then after a few weeks, the novelty wears off and you end up using your phone a bit less.

well I will be honest with you guys I took the phone back yet again because it actually did have a battery error! what did I get instead you might be wondering? I think I made the best phone decision of my life perhaps. Instead of getting another htc one I got an LG G2. This phone is amazing in terms of battery life and just about everything else right OUT OF THE BOX! I was able to play for hours on this phone without a single charge right OUT OF TUE BOX. With only about 75% charge. As a matter of fact it's at 17% battery as I type this. using the phone. I remember reading somewhere too that the LG G2 has some of the best battery life of all smart phones! I will say thus far I'm amazed! Sure it doesn't Look as fancy as other smart phones on the market, but it doesn't have too because it just seems to work!
