I've tried reading the guides, etc. But all of this language is completely bewildering to a newbie. :( I have a droid inc2 2.3.4 software version 6******. I use a MAC.

there are just so many steps to take and I'm so lost.

can anyone please help me??

if you have software 6.01.605.5,you need to downgrade. i have a guide here:
http://androidforums.com/incredible...y-downgrade-firmware-build-6-01-605-05-a.html

but youre on your own using a mac. you can borrow a windows laptop or desktop, and root with that, or this link may help you to get the android sdk running so you can follow the guide in the thread linked above:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917237

the one benefit of a mac, is you wont need to mess with installing drivers :)

one tip i have for comuicating with folks on the forum,is to be specific as you can about things like software version numbers. things change and exploits become patched, and sometimes firmwares are incompatible. it is often very important to know version you are on(or were on) when troubleshooting. as such, "6******" ddoes not tell us much. its also a good idea to know your hboot version number and baseband... generally the more info you can give can help us help :)

Sorry :) I saw 6.****** typed elsewhere in the forum and thought it was commonly known ;) my bad. I don't really know what specific questions i want to ask. I wish I did. I've read the downgrade manual I guess 50 times. It reads like Japanese to me. Sorry. I'll have to pay someone to do this for me it looks like. Thanks anyway.
