Help I want to run Xposed, but running Official Lollipop. What are my options?

Hello everyone,

Running an Exynos (SM-N900) Note 3 here. Short and sweet, I at the least miss having Xposed framework, as having to uninstall it because they won't make an official release that works in Lollipop from what I've seen. But already missing it because of unskippable YouTube ads shoved in my face with practically every *expletive* video.

However, I am aware that annoyingly with this and more recent Samsung phones, downgrading is an instant brick scenario, and I don't yet have the ability to just go out and replace this phone. Even more depressing is that it seems that - for being an international model - it's like every ROM maker for an alternative ROM solution has all but ignored this phone's existence, and I have been unsuccessful in finding an Android 5.* based alternative I could run that would allow Xposed to operate. Even better if it's at least 5.1, since it seems Samsung has left us behind, and anything to help with improving battery life is appreciated.

Bumping, because it seems like everyone just forgot all about this phone, and is basically ignoring those of us with the international version even more. :(

I agree. But it's not just the the international version... ok I just purchased my note 3 and I am looking to root it. From what I can tell, we need to get official 4.4.4 firmware flashed first from sammobile then we can flash the rooted firmware. So yeah, from my limited knowledge of Samsung, pretty sure that is what you will have to do. Downgrade, then flash rooted ROM, then Xposed.

My phone is already rooted. That isn't the problem.

The problem is that xposed framework won't work on samsung phones unless they're deodexed or something. And I can't find a deodexed version of my build on the phone - or any build - anywhere.

Downgrading would be a huge mistake at present, because I presently don't have a back-up phone or anything in case I brick this one. And Knox would get very unhappy about that.

Wagon xposed was made for TouchWiz.
I know he stopped supporting the pre lollipop versions but you can still do some cool tweaks.
Their are several modules that work well with stock TouchWiz. You just gotta be willing to go through a little trial and error to find them.

Wagon? That's the first I've heard of it. Do you have a link to this?

Main module I care for is YouTube AdAway. Without it, YouTube has been miserable to bear with.

Wanom lol sorry.......
Spellchecker issues their lol

Just go to xda and download the xposed installer then put whatever modules you want to use on your device.

And you can find the Wanom xposed module over at xda as well.

Even on the page for it, it says right away that installing on Samsung roms causes immediate bootloops. And that they demand I deodex the OS before I could even try to run Xposed.

Problem is, I can't find a deodexed version of this build of android that works on this phone, and I can't downgrade either because Knox will insta-brick.

I wish I was joking when I say it is this sort of thing that is basically forcing my hand to shop for another phone earlier than I wanted to. But I still want to make use of this one even if it is no longer my one and only phone. Especially since it's the only *thing* I have that could connect to the 5GHz wifi we finally have now in this house.
